The Osmania Graduates' Association and Exhibition Society, established Sardar Patel College in Secunderabad in the year 1970 to cater to the education needs of the students of Secunderabad and contiguous areas. Instruction is provided for the B.A., B.Sc. (Computer Science), B.Com. (Computers) Courses, M.Com. and B.C.A courses.

The institution in the initial stage was housed at the Chaderghat College premises on Tilak Road, Hyderabad for a very short period and thereafter was moved to the ptesent premises in May, 1970. The college has made rapid strides in all spheres of curricular, extra-curricular and extra-mural activities. Starting with an initial strength of 900 boys, the college now has over 1500 students on its rolls and 55 members of the teaching staff, in the faculties of Arts, Commerce & Science
