The AIIE of today had its beginning in 1938 as a 10 day local fair (Numaish-e-masnuath-e-mulki) to highlight the industrial products of the erstwhile Hyderabad State. It was conceived and organized by the OGA, and was supported actively by the government of the Hyderabad State. The Exhibition became popular with visitors as well as exhibitors and after 3 successive yearly runs it was clear that the Exhibition was here to stay. The OGA therefore constituted the Exhibition Society, exclusively for the purpose of planning and conducting the Exhibition regularly every year.
